Pietro was responsible for all marketing communications companies within the Central & Eastern European region, Italy & Turkey including advertising, public relations, Direct marketing, sales promotion, consumer relationship marketing and digital marketing. The region comprises 600 employees in 21 markets.
Throughout his career Pietro has grown both brands and businesses across borders and disciplines. Under his leadership Grey companies have been transformed for growth with major assignments from global, regional and local marketers including Vodafone, Procter & Gamble, and Nokia.
Collectively, Grey CEE agencies have risen rapidly up Effie awards league tables both locally and regionally – testament to Grey’s ability to deliver effective communications that create growth for clients’ businesses.
Pietro studied Economics at the University of Milano. In 1988 he launched his career in advertising by landing an EU-sponsored scholarship for advertising. In 1995 he was appointed Managing Director of Grey Worldwide Hungary. Three years later, he was further promoted to Regional Managing Director of Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia. In 2001 he assumed leadership across Central & Eastern Europe & Turkey.
Pietro is a frequent lecturer on branding at business and academic institutions. He is a former board member of the Hungarian Association of Advertising Agencies – one of only two non- nationals invited ever to be invited to serve. In 2003 Pietro was named as one of Europe’s top 40 operators under the age of 40 by Media and Marketing Europe. That year, he also judged the Euro-Effies.
A true internationalist, Pietro is Italian and has lived in and operated out of many markets including Italy, Austria, Hungary and Poland.
