Janez Rakušček

Janez Rakušček joined the advertising world in 1989 as a student at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He started his career as a copywriter at agencies Magenta, Luna and Studio Marketing/JWT, where in 1995 he was promoted to Creative Director and later to the position of Director of Creative Department. He joined Luna\TBWA agency as a Creative Director in 2001 and currently holds the position of Exective Creative Director. He works with important national and international clients (Renault Nissan Slovenija, Si.mobil, Ljubljanske mlekarne, Delo, Krka, Fructal, Pivovarna Laško, NLB, BFD etc.). 

In his career he received many international as-well as national advertising awards (Cannes Lions, Epica, Golden Drum, Slovenian Advertising Festival, Effie Slovenia). In 2011 he received the prestigious Advertising Personality Award which is awarded by Slovenian Advertising Chamber.

From 1999 to 2005 he was a Program Committee Member at the Slovenian Film Foundation and is currently a member of the Golden Drum Competition Council as well as the Slovenian Advertising Festival Competition Council.

Janez wrote two books about the theory of film narration: Tears and rain (Solze in dež) and (Meta)physics of movie narration ((Meta)fizika filmske naracije). In addition he is a visiting lecturer at different Faculties at the University of Ljubljana as-well as guest commentator of current communication issues for Slovenian media and a contributing author for a movie magazine Ekran.
