Malte Lohan


Director of Public Affairs, World Federation of Advertisers

Malte has been Director of Public Affairs of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) since June 2007. Previously he was WFA’s Public Affairs Manager.

Malte oversees WFA’s public affairs activities at a global and European level. His responsibilities include relations with the European institutions, international organizations and WFA’s partners and stakeholders. He leads WFA’s regulatory helpdesk as well as its work on strengthening self-regulatory standards in the marketing communications industry globally.

Malte serves on the Board of the Society of European Affairs Professionals (SEAP) and is a member of the Marketing Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Prior to joining WFA, Malte worked in the European Parliament and a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy. He holds degrees in philosophy and political science from the London School of Economics.

A German national who’s lived in Brussels, London, Berlin and Washington DC, he speaks English, French and German.
