Lajos Horváth
Founder, Creative Director, Cluso, Hungary
Lajos started his advertising career in 1992 at Euro RSCG as a Copywriter. Later he was named Associate Creative Director managing all international clients of the agency. He also acted as a Regional Creative Director for Old Spice. After half a decade with the French network, he moved on to join Young and Rubicam Budapest where he spent 3 years working mainly on Toyota, Colgate-Palmolive, Citibank and Westel, a mobile service provider. In 2000, he started freelancing - among others with Wieden + Kennedy and Fallon on his client's list. His body of work includes campaigns for ING, Erste Bank, Danone, Peugeot, Philips, Algida, KLM, Ford and the Hungarian Post. For the past ten years, he has been a Writer and Cultural Consultant for Bartle Bogle Hegarty London and is an Elected Associate of the British Design and Art Directors Club.
5 years ago, he joined then start-up agency Laboratory Ideas as Creative Director and helped to create some of the most popular advertising campaigns of recent years in Hungary - for the likes of UPC, Budapest Bank and Volvo. In 2009, he felt that the time has come to fulfil his long time dream and started his own agency called Cluso. In its short existence, Cluso became one of the most awarded Hungarian agencies and Lajos was named Creative of the Year in 2010 by the Hungarian Advertising Association. He is a passionate sailor; when not in the office he is probably on his beloved boat on Lake Balaton. He has won over 60 awards (plus 2 in sailing).
