Touch me, feel me, heal me
I read that Roger Daltrey is going to be on stage again. But this time, the Godfather of Brit Rock is going to show his power to the audience of an advertising festival. The Who are still one of my favourite bands ever.
I’m trying to think how many people in the ad business are as old as me to remember them. Pity. Because those in the industry could find some inspiration in some of The Who’s songs. For example, check “Listening to you”. It’s one of the most moving tracks of The Who’s rock opera “Tommy”. Watch the video and read the lyrics if you have some time. To me that’s a perfect metaphor of the consumers-brands relationship in these days. After trying to connect to them, to create the next buying experience, now that the downturn and the swine flu are here maybe the best thing to do is to heal them.
