Piran Portorož Fiction 2011

The Mayor of Piran and the Golden Drum Festival invite you to take part in the traditional competition for the best and most creative poster, this time on the topic:

Piran Portorož Fiction

    Many great themes have already been selected, yet many participants of this contest know Piran and Portorož only indirectly. That is why we are encouraging everyone to imagine, to fantasize and to be creative by placing your own fantasy images in a place, an image or spirit of the place all the way from famous Sečovlje Salina to Piran.

    BRIEF
    Create posters for a famous novel or movie that is especially dear to you, but place it in Piran & Portorož. You can use the photo materials made available at our website, your own photo material, illustration or fictional image.

    DEADLINE EXTENDED: August 30, 2011

    As an inspiration for your creative work, you may use photos from Portorož Tourist Board Photo gallery and Photo Library of the Slovenian Tourist Board. Visit their picture platform and choose from top quality images, available free for the purpose of this contest!

    When registering to obtain a user ID and password, please note that the purpose of the use of photographs is only for Off Drum competition.

    IMPORTANT
    If you use a photo from any of the above mentioned photo collections, you have to include the author’s name in the poster due to copyright.

    AWARDS
    The author of the best poster will receive 4.000 EUR from the Municipality of Piran and one full registration for the Golden Drum Festival 2012.

    The authors of the second and third ranked posters will each receive one full registration for the Golden Drum Festival 2012. All shortlisted posters will be exhibited in the beautiful Tartini Square in Piran, from October 5 to 8, 2011 during the 18th Golden Drum Festival.   

    HOW TO ENTER

    To compete in Piran Portorož Fiction you have to:

    Register entries
    All entries can be registered through our online registration system. That way you can save a lot of time and avoid unnecessary typing mistakes. To log into the registration system you will need your personal user ID and password. In case you forgot your ID and password or you do not have it yet, send us a request.

    If you feel uncomfortable registering your entries online, you can still download the entry form from our web site, fill them in and send them to the Festival Office by e-mail (info@goldendrum.com), fax (+3861 439 60 59) or post (Golden Drum Festival Office – SOZ, Parmova 53, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia).

    You can enter Piran Portorož Poster Awards without any registration fee.

    Submit your work
    Entries can be uploaded through our online registration system or sent by courier. In any case, please make sure to follow technical instructions for submitting your entries as carefully as possible.

    Technical requirements
    PDF with vectored text in CMYK: 232 mm x 342 mm + 5 mm around all sides, 300 dpi. The picture must be in portrait and not in landscape setting/format.

    How to submit entries
    You can upload entries to our FTP server.

    Make sure that file name is the same as entry title stated in the entry form.

    COMPETITION RULES

    • Only Young Drummers under 30 years old (born after 8th October 1981) and from New Europe countries are eligible to compete.
    • Each creative solution constitutes of one entry.
    • None of the entries submitted in the competition can be returned.
    • No legal action can be taken against the Jury.
    • The award full registration for the Golden Drum Festival 2012 cannot be paid out in cash.
    • The author declares with signature, that entry has never been published and that author is the owner of copyright. Quality and ownership of entry copyrights are solely the responsibility of the entrants. Entrants release the Festival’s Organiser of any responsibilities towards any and all third parties.
    • The City of Piran gets the non-exclusive and worldwide copyright for the use of the three awarded posters that were created for Piran Portorož Poster Award. Posters will be used strictly for the self promotional purposes of the City of Piran. Copyrights are valid until 31 December 2012.
    • Author agrees that entries sent will be published on www.goldendrum.com, used for press releases and exhibited at the entry exhibition, if short-listed.
    • The entrant authorizes the Festival’s Organizer to screen or publish his or her ads without charge for the purpose of promoting the Festival. Above stated authorization is given for the time period from 31 August 2011 to 31 August 2021 and could be used World-wide for the sole purpose of the presentation of the Golden Drum festival.
    • The entry conditions must be strictly observed by the entrant. Completion and submission of the entry form imply entrant’s full acceptance of the competition rules. Non-compliance with any of the entry rules results in an entry’s automatic disqualification.
