Studio Drum Bernardin 2009-Golden Drum Film Director’s Show
The live cinematic advertising workshop, a kind of Portorož Piran film ex tempore, was a unique creative happening during which the invited six film directors shot before the eyes of the participants a creative cinematic idea on a given topic revealed at the beginning of the happening. This was the 6th year that the Golden Drum Festival featured the Studio Drum Bernardin director’s show.
And after five years of production we were happy to be a co-winner of a very special award. “Filminute 2008” - one of the world’s largest film festivals, in terms of audience size and participation - the international one-minute film festival with more than 1.500 entries per year and audiences from more than 100 countries - awarded with the Jury Commendation (among others jurors were Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) and David Kennedy, co-founder of Wieden + Kennedy) the Studio Drum film “Cum grano salis” directed by Markus Virpio from Finland. Studio Drum 2009 directors were:

Valentin Perko, the expert director of photography headed the local film crew, which were accompanied by young, talented Slovenian actor Gregor Gruden and actress Ana Dolinar.
The whole happening, from the basic idea to the scenario, the set-up, the direction and the shooting unfolded in Hoteli Bernardin complex and in Portorož’s film location.
In the year 2009 the novelty was that there was no more only one topic for all six directors but different for all of them.Main topic was SALIGA- 7 sins and only one Acedia ( laziness) was not done.

Six years ago, full of enthusiasm and passion for moving images, we decided to establish an original and demanding film experiment STUDIO DRUM, the Golden Drum's Film Directors' Showcase.The live cinematic advertising workshop, a kind of Portorož Piran film ex tempore, has in the course of six years become a challenging, unique creative happening during which the invited six film directors shoot in front of the Golden Drum participants a 1 minute film on a given topic, which is revealed to each director only 6 hours before the shooting begins.
After six years the evidence and the list of people, who left their magic touch on the project, is rich and distinguished. With names, spirit and ideas.

This is a notable selection of directors that have plenty of experience in advertising as well as in the film industry. Many of them remained our friends after meeting at the Golden Drum.
Actresses: Aleksandra Balmazović, Manca Dorrer, Maja Martina Merljak, Tina Vrbnjak, Ana Dolinar and actors Aljoša Kovačič and Gregor Gruden left their marks on every film.
Topics were: ”Naked Truth”, ”I Don’t Like Sex”, “Magic Touch”, “Cum grano salis”, “A New Star is Born” and "SALIGA - 7 sins". However, the final proof of the project's relevance are famous jury members: Jiři Menzel, Krysztof Zanussi, Joao Daniel Tikhomiroff, Ivan Zacharias, Michael Conrad, Johannes Newrkla, Milka Pogliani, Adrian Holmes, Daniel Růžička, Dario Vince, Farid Chehab, Jure Apih.
