Sanjiv’s career began in South Africa, where after graduating with a law degree, he spent a decade at some of the country’s most storied agencies, working on global brands like Volkswagen, Audi, BP and Coca-Cola. He helped Ogilvy Cape Town become the most admired agency in South Africa, and in 2009 was named the top young creative in the country.
At McCann London, as CD on the Microsoft business along with his creative partner Jamie Mietz, Sanjiv’s aim has been to elevate the agency’s creative profile. Just over a year after taking the reigns, they produced the ‘Survival Billboard’ and ‘Squadvertiser’ work for Xbox, which went on to win 18 Lions, propelling McCann London to be the most awarded UK agency in Cannes.
Sanjiv’s projects have gained consistent recognition from, amongst others, Cannes Lions, One Show, Clio and D&AD, and his work has been included in the permanent archives of New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
