Dear Golden Drummers!

   Another Golden Drum has been set in motion and it’s
   ready to enter a new phase of putting New Thinking
   from New Europe to its ultimate test. Lots of fierce
   emotions, creative thinking, new approaches and a
   view to be different have been put behind it. But one
   thing is sure, the motto of the Golden Drum Festival
   “sharp competition, good school, crazy party and
   devilish challenge
” remains the same.

We will celebrate and reward the most creative, the bravest and the very best from New Europe, thus returning to the original idea of this festival. And we will do so with a new, fresh and unique approach to the competition of the festival. Don’t let others take your award away, as there are many to be won this year.

New Europe, New Thinking is more than just the main theme of the 18th International Advertising Festival of New Europe Golden Drum, it is a long term challenge given to agencies, advertisers, media houses and others engaged in the creative industry to step up and face an ever faster evolving market and an extremely demanding new kind of customer.

We will have a chance to listen to many high ranking and distinguished Guest Speakers at the Creative Academy, coming not only from the creative industry, but other walks of life. But there is more: we will talk about many specific areas and channels at different labs and workshops, such as Creative Lab, Digital Lab, PR Lab and Media Lab.

So, are you starting to hear a distant booming sound growing louder with every minute …? Can you see a hint of lightning in the sky as electricity is starting to crackle in the air? The 18th Golden Drum Festival has been set in motion and it’s determined to move foundations and shake your ground … it all began with our Drummer Boy, who grew up into a fine young, bold gentleman.

The Event

Seventeen years have passed since the modest idea that many saw as bold and overreaching was born. Since then the Golden Drum International Advertising Festival of New Europe has grown into not only a European manifestation but into an important event noticed throughout the world. From Trieste to Vladivostok, from Helsinki to Tel Aviv, the Golden Drum is the biggest, the most important and the most noticed advertising overview and event of the year.


The Friendliest Festival

Whoever has followed the Portorož meetings over the last seventeen years has to admit that because of it countless friendly, professional and business ties were established. Today we know each other better in this 400 million people region that was blown together by the winds from all over. We know who is who, we can compare and judge each other and with this knowledge we can trade easier on the domestic and international stage.
