Arno Laeven

Arno Laeven is Sanoma's Strategy Director in Russia and Central- and Eastern Europe and as such overseeing the overall strategy formulation and execution. Sanoma is active in 9 countries in the region and one of the most important magazine publishers in Europe. Besides magazines, Sanoma is active in television, online, mobile, newspapers, and events. In 2009, Sanoma started a program to transform its business from a predominantly print company to becoming a predominantly digital company. Arno is leading that program and will give you full insight into the process and the results so far. 

Being educated at the Rotterdam School of Management in The Netherlands, Arno started off his career as an entrepreneur giving advice to Small- and Medium Sized Enterprises. After this he worked as a conference producer, an internet consultant and as project manager in an insurance company. Six years ago Arno joined Sanoma and he fell in love with media and with Central- and Eastern Europe and Russia. Almost three years ago Arno was appointed as Strategy Director for the region and he set up a transformation program called Vision 2020 which he is heading ever since.
