Fernando Vega Olmos


Creative Chairman, Continental Europe and Latin America – JWT Worldwide Creative Council Chairman

Fernando joined JWT in January 2009 as  Creative Chairman, Continental Europe and Latin America and recently in February 2010 he was also named JWT Worldwide Creative Council Chairman.

Previously, he served as General Creative Director at Ratto BBDO and Executive Creative Director & Partner at Casares Grey, two legendary agencies in Argentina.

In March 1997, he founded Vega Olmos Ponce, serving as Chairman and Creative Director. Vega Olmos Ponce quickly became one of the most successfully ranked agencies by the Gunn Report.

In August 2004, Fernando moved to London, where he was appointed Unilever Worldwide Creative Director at Lowe, the first Argentinean to handle a worldwide position at the agency.

In 2007 he relocated to Madrid and founded Lola (Lowe Latina).

Fernando Vega Olmos became the first Hispanic to give a conference at the Cannes Advertising Festival in June 2005. He has held jury positions three times at Cannes and was the first President of the Outdoor jury in 2006.  

Fernando has received more than 500 international advertising awards. He was the first Argentinean to win a Gold Lion at Cannes in 1992. In 2005, he became the first Argentinean to win a Gold Lion for an international project from London— Stunt City for Rexona and in 2007, Vega Olmos Ponce won the first ever Integrated Grand Prix in Cannes for Axe 3.
