How do we and do we at all understand TV?
This article was inspired by an advertisement “Brain scanning” and my imagination what would happen if I had to watch it in my “natural” environment.
Television is a visual media.
It is primarily understood in the context of home usage. It has a strong symbolic connotation. Sometimes it’s even absorbed as a totem object.
What are the vision, and its receipt?
TV program has been contextualized with home space of a family life.
They say an average observer is a person with rancid TV that doesn't turn to much attention to it.
They say it's a side observer who is at home relaxing with family. They say it’s the one whose attention requires too be occupied segment by segment.
So what is the role of the sound in the whole story? Sound is attracting viewers’ gaze which has been lost somewhere.
So how do we make a good add that can return viewers attention to this “home picture moving sculpture”?
I guess a good TV adds should never neglect TVs’ natural position inside the space. Bear in mind that we are all viewers and the ads are viewed in our so “natural” environments.
Shake us, attract us, and shock us. Provoke emotions.

I probably wouldn’t see it... but I guess I was never the target group.
