Emily is a writer and managing editor at Contagious, an award-winning and highly respected business magazine and online platform. She has worked at the company for over ten years, contributing to its transformation from fledgling start-up to industry bible. Her work focuses on analysing leading advertising, consumer trends and new technologies and assessing their relevance for brands. She has launched websites, developed the company’s consultancy division, advising brands and agencies and spoken at industry events including Advertising Week, Golden Drum, Most Contagious and 100% Design.

Emily was selected as one of thirty future leaders to win a place on the Marketing Academy 2015/16 where she has developed leadership skills and received mentorship and coaching from leaders in advertising and marketing. She has judged at BIMA, D&AD New Blood and the London Innovators Awards.

Emily studied English at Exeter, following a gap year spent teaching in China. She loves to travel, and some recent adventures include Yellowstone National Park, Iceland and Ethiopia. Outside of work, she is an active member of Bloom, a group for young women in advertising, and mentors regularly at the School of Communication Arts 2.0 and Google Squared. Otherwise she can be found listening to music, learning Spanish and, occasionally, climbing mountains.
